Seattle Rep Invites Pooches to a Dogs Night Out Showing of 'Sylvia'

When the Seattle Repertory opened its doors on Sunday, it welcomed 100 dogs along with hundreds of humans. Sylvia is a play about a man, his wife and the street-smart lab/poodle mix that "promptly becomes a bone of contention between them... testing their marriage to hilarious and touching effect." Much of the humor comes from the human actress that stars in the role of Sylvia the dog to great effect (as seen in the above video). It only makes sense that some of our Seattle fur brothers and sisters got to see the show.

This is the perfect show about dogs. Everybody loves the show 'Sylvia,' and Seattle is such a dog city that we just thought, how can we not take this valuable piece of theater about dogs and let our Seattle pet owners come see it? So it's just fun. [Katie Jackman, Seattle Rep Spokeswoman]

Each year, the Animal League rescues, nurtures and adopts nearly 20,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens into permanent and happy homes, and to commemorate each month of 2012, Beth and Howard Stern have generously donated their time and love in support of creating a one-of-a kind calendar showcasing the precious, healthy canines and felines that can be found in local shelters. Season 3 of Pit Bulls and Parolees

The popular Animal Planet series Pit Bulls and Parolees begins its third season on November 12 at 10:00 PM ET. "Follow the turbulent drama and bittersweet moments of Tia Torres, her family and her crew of ex-convicts as they come together to rescue and rehabilitate abused and abandoned pit bulls."

The show takes place around the 10 acre Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest pit bull sanctuary in the country, caring for 200-250 pit bulls at any given time. The center costs $20,000 a month to operate, a portion of which is financed by the show.
