Season 3 of Pit Bulls and Parolees
Aug 16 2012
The popular Animal Planet series Pit Bulls and Parolees begins its third season on November 12 at 10:00 PM ET. "Follow the turbulent drama and bittersweet moments of Tia Torres, her family and her crew of ex-convicts as they come together to rescue and rehabilitate abused and abandoned pit bulls."
The show takes place around the 10 acre Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest pit bull sanctuary in the country, caring for 200-250 pit bulls at any given time. The center costs $20,000 a month to operate, a portion of which is financed by the show.
The placement process is extremely slow. Unfortunately, pit bulls are their own worst enemy — their loyalty and devotion make them the perfect victim... We've turned these all-American family dogs into the killing machines. It is our responsibility to turn this around. We owe it to them. After all, aren't they man's best friend? [Tia Torres]
The Underdawgz program takes in parolees to care for pit bulls at the center while they begin the mainstreaming process back into society. Dogs and humans help each other.
Our dogs don't care what you've done or what you look like... Our ranch environment allows both dog and man to take their time learning what life is all about all over again and to learn from the mistakes that they have made in the past. Our main focus is training and rehabilitation — no matter how long it takes! [Tia Torres]
While waiting for the third season to begin, dig into the Pit Bull Quiz. Can you separate fact from fiction?
