Awkward Family Pet Photos Greeting Card

My human mama recently sniffed out the Awkward Family Pet Photos site. I haven't been able to take my eyes off of it ever since. In addition to red eyes, I also have a raw throat from all of the howling. If you haven't seen this train wreck yet, be careful. It is like catnip to cats!

There are few things more rewarding than having a pet. They love us unconditionally, shower us with attention, and because of them, we actually live longer. So, what can possibly be awkward about our animal BFFs? Well . . . nothing. In fact, we're the awkward ones. We adore our pets, but let's face it—sometimes L-O-V-E makes us go a little overboard. Like giving them middle names, throwing them elaborate birthday parties, and making them a Christmas sweater to match with the rest of the family. Truth is, what they cherish most is our companionship. And maybe that's the reason we care about them so much—because for such simple pleasures, they allow us to be as awkward as we want. My favorite photo so far is the one that appears on the Awkward Family Pet Photos Book. That sure is an interesting way to keep your head warm at night!

Dog Doo Wall of Shame: Don't Get Caught Brown Handed

Aug 16 2012

200/365 Squared Circle No Dog Poop

It is known among canines that our humans mainly serve to pick up our poop. Does this upset you? Don't be. It is considered a great honor. So what of those humans who fail to doo their duty? In some neighborhoods, said humans will likely appear on the Dog Doo Wall of Shame.

A Studio City, CA property owner has been fighting this naughty human behavior for years. His latest attempt to clean up his street is to use one of the oldest and most successful tactics: SHAME. Using a camera installed for security purposes, this dog doo warrior catches them "brown-handed" and publicly humiliates them by posting choice scenes of the crime in progress on a nearby light post for the rest of the neighborhood to see. The text at the bottom of the sign reads as follows:

All of these inconsiderate jerks think it is okay to leave dog turds where you can step on them and for others to clean. They have been caught brown-handed on CCTV. The only recourse is to publicly humiliate them. Pick up after your dog or you will join them on the Dog Doo Wall of Shame! [Concerned Studio City Citizen]

Look out humans. The Dog Doo Wall of Shame could be coming to a neighborhood near you. Two paws up to Patch.com for the scoop!
