Dog Named Duncan Saves His Human from House Fire
Aug 16 2012
A young boxer named Duncan and his human Scott Dunn were both sleeping on the sofa in their Cobb County, Georgia home earlier this week when a fire broke out. Dunn woke up to Duncan's pawing, scratching and barking and faced a room covered with a thick blanket of smoke. Dunn grabbed his keys and Duncan's collar and made it out of the house unharmed, but when he looked down at the collar, Duncan wasn't there.
"His collar came of. He wouldn't come," recalls a clearly distraught Dunn. "I think he was just as scared as I was."
Firefighters found our little fur brother curled up on his human papa's bed. Poor Duncan died in the fire.
Dunn lost his home in the fire and escaped with only his truck and the clothes on his back. But none of that even remotely compared to the loss of his little buddy.
"That's my boy. He saved my life," Dunn sobbed. "He saved my life, but I couldn't return the favor. It was too hot in there. I couldn't get back in there."
We will never furget Duncan's bravery that day. We also wish Mr. Duncan - a great doggie daddy and honorary member of our pack - the best. Two paws up to CBS Atlanta for the scoop.
